SAN BENITO, TX. -- Eulogio Lucio, 58, passed away Friday, November 15, 2013 in Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Tx.
Eulogio was born on March 11, 1955 in San Benito, Texas.
Eulogio is survived by his wife, Guadalupe; sons, Eulogio Lucio Jr. and Guadalupe Lucio; daughters, Dalia Carbajal and Berta Lucio; 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation hours will be held Monday, September 18, 2013 from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm in Heavenly Grace Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 10:00 am in Heavenly Grace Chapel.
Burial will follow in Heavenly Grace Memorial Park in La Feria.
Pallbearers will be Eulogio Lucio Jr., Guadalupe Lucio, Nayellie Carbajal, Robert Lucio, Adelfo Carbajal Jr., and Armando Vela III.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Heavenly Grace Funeral Home. (956) 797-5500.

I saw a picture of you today big brother. I remember growing up and our yearly visits to Houston to go see you. It was a big thing. Mom and dad would get excited knowing there were gonna see you. I thought you were the coolest cat.
I respected the fact that no matter what circumstance you were in, you found time to visit mom and dad. That takes heart and love.
I would sit there and listen, as you mom and dad went back and forth over the most mundane things. I would secretly laugh thinking, will they ever stop
I think back now and realize that this is what family was. I sometimes wonder if mom would be different now, if she still had you to argue over where coffee comes from or why juice has too much sugar.
There are so many "what if's" about your life that makes me sad; yet happy that you were never down. Always saying "hey baby bro-long time no see". You treated my daughter and wife like family and I will never forget that.
So many memories coming back. Too many to list. You are in a better place my brother. Blessings from your brothers and sisters. We all love you in a special way. Especially me and Lourdes. She admired you. She would often say that you had a knowledge that was untapped.
My daughter also missed you. She called after seeing your picture and said dad, "I remember when tio Eulogio went to the Rocket with me once. I remember he picked me up to make sure I saw all the candy". small things like that my man make life. I could go on, but for now. Take it easy up there. Don't cause a big scene; that I can't get in later. Peace.

Que paso apa.Un shout out to you its not hard to think about you cause I am you. As I get older we look alike.I know your at peace because you have a way of coming into my dreams.That last we talked you told me ya aqui estoy and hugged me next thing I know I am looking for you your up there with Freddy fender singing with him that's when I new you were at peace.Got to admit it was hard to let you go especially knowing should have tried to get closer to you in life.The great thing I can tell you is that you keep on living in me and my kids they look and are like there grandpa.There's one of my three sons that reminds me so much of you and that's David my youngest.Got to say he is 99.9% like his grandpa.Guess will keep in in touch you have your ways of swinging by.Haven't heard from you in awhile guess I might be doing something right.Miss you and see you soon but not to soon.lol

Grandpa I miss you so much. I cry alone at night sometimes because you're gone, but I know you are in a better place. At times I end up wanting to go and see you face to face and tell you about how my day was and how I'm almost done with school. I miss so many things about you, especially when I used to live with you and use to play around with me, Sasha, and Ruby. Those days will never go back to the way they where but I will cherish every moment of it. I remember you'd always want to me to watch war movies with you and the coal miner's daughter. I'd love how you alway tell me stories about your childhood because they would always interest me. On April fools its our special day because we loved to prank.❤.Well I have a sweet 16 coming up next year. I wanted you to be there so I want to make is so special that I gonna do it on your birthday. My mom miss you so much she doesn't say but I can tell. My sister I would loved for her to met you. For her to see how amazing you where and how your so intelligent. Mando had another baby boy he's gonna be one in a few months. His name is robin and he's such a fluffy baby lol. Well I have a boyfriend his name is Luis but everyone calls him Junior. We've been together for 5 months. He's such an amazing person. He treats me right and we help each other in school so we can both graduate. I wish he met you. I can honestly say that your my #1 person in my heart that will never leave from there. It is so nice to see that my Grandpa was so loved. He deserves it! He had the kindest heart and the most loving hand, despite all the hard times in his life. My grandpa was many things, a man with many talents, a man that wore his heart on his sleeve with no regrets. I am proud to be his "India Guera" I live my life according to a lot of the lessons he has taught me, directly and indirectly. He made an impact on anyone that came his way; he would talk your ear off if you gave him the chance. I know he was put on this Earth to be a father and a husband. He didn't fail in any of those categories. I will say one thing; my Grandpa's love for my Grandma is what defined him the most. Love is patient and kind they say, my grandpa was both of those things. He lived his life for my grandma; she is his best friend and his everything. He is not gone, because she is still here. He was loved by many and he loved many, his sons and his daughters, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He lives through each of us, I am so proud to have HIS Lucio blood running through my veins, HE, the man with the heart of gold. I hope everyone feels just as blessed as I do to have had him in my life. Mr. Rene Garza, thank you for all of your kind words and for being a brother to my grandpa, just reading the comments you have left provide a sense of comfort, knowing that he had you and my grandma. We grow and we live our lives, but I am so happy to know that he still had a great one, with the love of his life. He would have never left her if he had a choice, and that in itself gives life and hope to anyone. 2 years later, the sun still comes up for all of us, it is pain and sadness sometimes, but I am soo happy that you don't live in physical pain, but mostly emotional pain. You were everything and MORE to US. Until it is our time to see you and hug you again, Grandpa I love you!

What can we say about Tio Eulogio?? He sure was proud to be Mexican! :) Though he was so adamant that I was Chinese, that was ok, I still loved him b/c he was my uncle and I knew he was just teasing b/c he loved me back. Mom sure loved him and talked about him all the time. All I know is that he will be very much missed for his smile, his sense of humor, and for that "pachuco" walk.
