Frederick Wayne Eaton

Frederick Wayne Eaton, age 70, passed away peacefully at Franciscan Health, Lafayette, IN, on Wednesday February 24, 2021.

Fred was born on June 15, 1950, in Princeton, IN, to Warren and Dorothy (Conner) Eaton, and was the youngest of five children. He graduated from Fort Branch High School in 1968, and joined the United States Marine Corps, serving in Vietnam and receiving an honorable discharge in 1970. Fred worked for Emge Packing Company, Fort Branch, IN, and eventually went on to retire from Indiana Packers Corporation, Delphi, IN, as Sanitation Supervisor. He married Stephanie Kiesel in 1999. Fred was a published poet. He loved sports, riding his Harley, and spending time with family. Fred was infinitely humble and always willing to help those in need.

Fred is survived by his step-children, Brian Johnson, Lafayette, IN, and Jennifer (Dan) Colbert, Haubstadt, IN; sisters, Vicki Hulse, Washington, IN, and Brenda Lee, Fort Branch, IN; along with several nieces and nephews.

Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Stephanie Eaton; parents, Warren and Dorothy (Conner) Eaton; brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Alberta Eaton; a sister, Linda Eaton Kiefer; nephews, Joshua Gantner and John Carter Freyberger; and a step-father, Franklin Douglas.

Fred and I were good friends in marine boot camp, both of us were sent to Vietnam, we were able to meet a couple times while there, Fred was a super guy. Semper Fi buddy.
