Gabriel Cartwright Obituary

Gabriel "Gabe" Thomas Edwin Cartwright

Evansville, Ind. - Gabriel "Gabe" Thomas Edwin Cartwright, 29, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida.

Gabe was born in Evansville, Indiana on April 6, 1991. He attended Castle High School and was employed as a foreman at Miller Pipeline and also worked part-time at Feller Towing. Gabe was a volunteer fire fighter (Ohio Township) since he was 18 years old and was a certified rescue diver for the state of Indiana. With his infectious sense of humor, Gabe could put a smile on anyone's face and had a heart the size of the universe. With a servants heart, he would help anyone that was in need and would give you the shirt off his back if needed. Gabe was a handyman and could fix anything. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his two girls.

Gabe is survived by his wife of almost seven years, Rachel Cartwright and his two precious daughters, Kylie Cartwright and Alexis Cartwright, all of Evansville, IN; his mother, Joy (Tapp) Baggett of Newburgh, IN; his father, William "Farley" Cartwright (Lisa); siblings, Nick Wilke, Travis Wilke (Teagen), Casie Quinn (Josh), Corrie Gann, Stephanie Osborne, Tiffanie Warzecha (Mark), Zoey Cartwright and Norah Cartwright; father and mother-in-law, Roger and Linda Burden; brother-in-law, Justin Burden; brother and sister-in-law, Shawn Burden (Sasha); grandparents, Dave and Faye Hollingsworth; and several nieces and nephews.

Gabe was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William "Bill" Cartwright; paternal grandmother, Virginia Cartwright; maternal grandmother, Elsie "Gandy" Tapp; and step-father, James "Jim" Baggett.

A celebration of Gabe's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Crossroads Christian Church, 10800 Lincoln Ave., Newburgh, IN 47630 with Pastor John Lefler officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Crossroads Christian Church and again from 10:00 AM until service time on Thursday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to a Gabriel Cartwright memorial fund, RW Baird and Company, Attn. Steve Provost, 110 Main St., Evansville, IN 47708.
