Irma Friedman Obituary

Irma L. (Rohleder) Friedman

Newburgh, IN

Irma L. (Rohleder) Friedman, of Newburgh, IN, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by those who loved her June 1, 2016. She was born August 25, 1939, in Ireland, IN, to the late Daniel and Marie (Wehr) Rohleder.

Irma was/is a beautiful, kind, thoughtful and gentle soul whose grace and generosity touched many lives. This was visible in her many philanthropic efforts and through her giving and loving nature. She was the co-founder of Victoria National Golf Club along with her late husband Terry Friedman. Though always graceful, she was an avid golfer whose strength and competitive side would come out on the golf course. Irma enjoyed spending time with family, dear friends and especially her grandchildren. She is the epitome of strength, beauty and class, with a smile that could light up a room – a special lady who will be missed dearly.

The family is most grateful for the loving care she received throughout her illness.

Irma was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Terrence A. "Terry" Friedman in 2004; son-in-law, Steven Warren and brother, Sylvester Rohleder both in 2015; grandson, Kyle Terrence Friedman; and sister-in-law, Lois Rohleder.

She is survived by her son, Rick Friedman (Beverly); daughters, Cheryl "Sheri" Tougias (George) and Lisa Friedman-Warren; grandchildren, Amanda Friedman, Christina and Peter Tougias, McKinley, Brandon, Mariah, Isaiah and Carissa Warren; brothers, Maurice, Dennis (Carolyn) and Steven (Mary) Rohleder; sisters, Betty Rohleder, Mary Bohnert, Jeanie Weisman (Rich), Madonna Taylor (Lloyd), and Aggie Kelly (Brian); sister-in-law, Linda Rohleder; nieces, nephews, and many friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Road, Newburgh, officiated by Fr. Anthony Govind and Fr. Alex Zenthoefer, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, Newburgh and Tuesday, 9:00 AM until service time at the church.
