Jerry (Jerome Anthony) Hubert

Jerry (Jerome Anthony) Hubert, 86, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday January 21, 2015, at Evansville Protestant Home. He was the fourth child born to the late Ralph C. and Louise (Spindler) Hubert on November 16, 1928, in Evansville.
Jerry graduated from Reitz Memorial High School in 1946, and St. Mary's College in Winona, Minn., in 1950. Shortly after graduating college he was inducted into the military and he served in Korea during the war. Jerry was president and co-owner of Brown and Hubert, Inc. He was a former board member of Alwood Components in Yakima, Wash., member of the Knights of Columbus, Jasper, Indiana, Council and was a member of St. Benedict Cathedral. In 2010, Jerry was a kidney transplant recipient. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his family, friends and traveling. Jerry was always cheerful and was blessed with the gift to make people laugh.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Ralph; mother Louise (who passed away when he was four); mother who raised him, Marie (Stock) Hubert; brothers, Jim Hubert and Ralph Hubert Jr.; brother-in-law, Don Whitehead; and sister-in-in-law, Fran Hubert.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, June (Tremor) Hubert; five sons; and two daughters, Mike Hubert (Ann), of Newburgh, Joe Hubert (Lorrie), of Indianapolis, John Hubert (Kim), Connie Loehr (Tom), Ted Hubert, all of Evansville, Paul Hubert, of St. Louis, Mo., and Carolyn Freyberg (Ron), of Liberty Township, Ohio; grandchildren, Rachel, Emily and Jake Freyberg, Andrew, Katie, Kristen and Anna Loehr, Adrienne and Cara Hubert, Ellen Hitchens (Mike) and Beth Hubert; great-granddaughters, Reagan and Riley Hitchens; brother, Tom Hubert (Nancy); sisters, Pat Whitehead and Marie Martin (Norman);sister-in-law, Mary Pat Hubert; and nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all those who helped Jerry especially Asera Care Hospice, Father Ted Tempel and the staff at the Protestant Home for their kind and compassionate care.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville, IN 47714.
Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2015, at the funeral home and will continue with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at St. Benedict Cathedral, 1328 Lincoln Ave., Evansville, IN 47714, with Fr. Joseph Ziliak officiating.
Entombment will be at St. Joseph Mausoleum.
