Jerry Marlin Wade died October 13, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born March 3, 1936 in Jasper, AL.
Mr. Wade is survived by his wife of 38 years Cynthia Wallace Wade; daughter Christa Beyer and her children Caroline and Dawson of Paducah, KY; Amber Waid and her daughter Emma of Bixby, OK; and brother Charles Wade of Birmingham, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents James Marlin Wade and Margaret Wade of Jasper, AL, and brother Richard Wade of Birmingham, AL.
Mr. Wade graduated from Walker High School, Jasper, AL in 1954. He retired from the United States Army Corps of Engineers after 36 years and was named Construction Representative of the Year for the Louisville District 1990. He served as the Vice-President of the Vanderburgh County Levee Board. Mr. Wade was a longtime member of the Board of Directors and held several offices in the Propeller Club Port #164 of Evansville, IN and was the recipient of the Gene Austin Award in recognition of his years of service Sept. 14, 2011. He was a member of the Outboard Motor Club, Inland Marina, and the Dixieland Antique and Classic Boat Society.
Mr. Wade donated his remains to the Indiana University School of Medicine, therefore no formal services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name to the Indiana University Anatomical Education Program.

Very sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. I remember him from my days at Newburgh Locks and Dam where he would stop by from time to time.
