Evansville, Ind.
Jovern Stone, 67, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at her home.
Jovern was born in Caruthersville, Missouri on October 3, 1947 to the late Robert and Tempie Elizabeth (Knuckles) Stone. She worked as a CNA at many nursing homes and was of the Baptist faith. Jovern was a strong woman in principles and ideas, supportive and loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.
Jovern is survived by her children, Sonji Stone (Krystal Thomas) of Jeffersonville, IN, Sirena Watson (Lonnie) of Indianapolis, IN, Matt Shepard (Latoya Merriweather) of Evansville, IN; sisters, Queenie Stone of Evansville, IN, Zola Mae Standard of Benton, AR; grandchildren, Dalton Thomas, JaVian Litrell Shepard, Lonnie Watson III, Rozzalyn Watson and Lionel Watson; nieces, Carolyn Stone, Pamela Duerson; and great nieces and great nephews.
Jovern was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue, Evansville, IN 47711. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 9:00 AM until service time on Tuesday at Browning Funeral Home.
