Lana Gail Summers
Nashville, Ind.
Lana Gail Summers of Nashville, Indiana, passed away on June 13, 2015 at her residence.
Lana is the daughter of Roy F. and Lone (Mueller) and was born on March 21, 1944, in Buffalo, New York. Lana graduated from North High School in Evansville, Indiana, and attended the University of Evansville.
After beginning a career in commercial art, Lana realized her childhood dream by establishing Hayworth Stables in West Newton, Indiana, where she participated in every kind horse related activity: breeding, showing, racing, boarding and training. Lana's greatest joy was coaching young horsemen. Lana belonged to a variety of horse related organizations and founded the White River Trail Riders. In her free time, she was an avid gardener creating extensive plantings in rock slopes at her home in Nashville.
Lana is survived by her husband, Dick, of 49 years; her son, Garett R. Summers; and sister, Tana (Mike) Chapman.

Lana was the first person I met in 1956 when my family moved to North Park. We were close friends through grade school and high school. Although we didn't live near each other we always stayed in contact. She was a dear friend and I will miss her. My sympathy to Dick and Garret.
