Larry Gene Roll, 78, passed away October 15, 2016, at Charlier Hospice Center, Evansville.

Larry was born October, 18, 1937, to parents Jack Stanley Roll and Mary Schaeffer Roll in Henderson, KY. He grew up in Baskett, KY until the family moved to Evansville in 1948.

The eldest of eight children Larry attended Stanley Hall grade school and graduated from Bosse High School class of 1956. He attended classes at the University of Evansville and Lockyear Business College. He served in the army and was stationed in Milwaukee when he met Dorothy Strand Roll who would become his beloved wife for 47 years. She preceded him in death in November 2006.

Larry worked at Arkla Industries for 20 years and LabCorp. for 15. He enjoyed playing Clabber weekly with a fun group at the Owls, handicapping horses at Ellis Park and

following golf of which he used to play. He enjoyed coaching baseball for the South Youth League in his younger years, fishing at Kentucky Lake and playing pool. Larry appreciated music especially from the seventies and watching independent films.

He is survived and will be greatly missed by his loving daughters Anita Roll, of Evansville, Kristi Roll, of Evansville, Kelly and son in law John Hevron of Evansville, beloved son Kyle Roll and daughter in law Dow Roll of Southgate, KY and granddaughters Sydney, Chloe and Ava Yune, of Evansville. Missing Larry also will be brothers and sister in laws Jon and Carolyn Roll, Jimmy and Helen Roll, of Henderson, KY, Lyman and Shirley Roll, of Evansville, and Kevin Roll, of Evansville; sisters Janice Roll Johnson, Cheri Roll Simmons and Doug Simmons of Lake Havasu, AZ and Kathi Roll Duncan, of Evansville. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also hold Larry dear to their hearts and will miss his free and gentle spirit greatly.

A private celebration of life will be held for Larry on November 11, 2016 at the home of Kelly and John Hevron.
