Leon Walker Obituary
For 18 years he worked for Kent/Ball Plastics. Then over the next 18 years he worked as a Freight Salesman for numerous trucking companies, worked in security for Comeir Security and Evansville State Hospital, where he was also an Attendant. He was a member of CFC and Transportation Club, where he served as an officer. He was a kind, gentle, funny and caring person.
Leon is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janet (Taylor) Walker of Evansville; sons, Jeffrey Walker of Evansville and 1st Sgt. Scott (Kimberly) Walker of Newburgh; daughters, Shelley (Todd) Bontrager of Mishawaka, IN and Debra (Jeffrey) Marx of Evansville; mother, Ruby Walker of McLeansboro, IL; grandchildren, Benjamin and Kate Bontrager, Ethan and Isaac Marx, Amberly and Lydia Walker; brother, Eugene (Beverly) Walker of McLeansboro, IL; sister, Elaine (Gary) Ayers of Bloomington, IL; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Services will be 11 A.M. Saturday, May 29, 2010, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Dale Beaver with entombment at Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. and Saturday from 10 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
