Lori A. Higgins, 54, of Evansville, IN passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018, at Linda E. White Hospice House. She was born January 12, 1964, in Evansville to Beverly (Harl) Toelle and the late Gerald L. Toelle.

Lori retired from Mt. Vernon School District after teaching for 19 years. She is a member of St. Phillips Catholic Church. Lori enjoyed craft work, decorating and camping with her family.

Lori is survived by her husband, Mark Higgins of 34 years; son, Anthony Higgins both of Evansville; mother, Beverly Toelle of Mt. Vernon, IN.; brothers, Jeff and Mark Toelle both of Evansville, Chad Toelle of Mt. Vernon, IN; sisters, Tami Seaman of Evansville, Mary Beth Papenmeier and Sherri Scott both of Mt. Vernon, IN.

Lori was preceded in death by her father, Gerald L. Toelle and brother, Timothy Toelle.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm -8:00 pm Friday, December 28, 2018 at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 First Ave. and visitation will continue Saturday December 29, 2018 from 9:00 am to 9:30 am at St. Phillip Catholic Church 3500 St. Philip Road S, Mt. Vernon, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 9:30 am at the church with Father Ted Tempel officiating.

Entombment will be at St. Joseph Mausoleum.

I'm sadden to hear of the passing of Lori. Mark you and Lori were good neighors. Losing someone you love in life is the hardest thing to face. But you most move forward one day at a time . You will find peace with this with the help of God and the people around you. I fill your pain ,I've been there. It will take some time, but Lori would want nothing more for you and Anthony to find peace knowing she is in a good place. Plus she will always be with you in your heart.
