Mark Owen Roll, 58, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Mark was born in Evansville, Ind., on August 1, 1956, to Rex and Betty Doris (Davenport) Roll.
Mark attended Central High School and Boonville High School. He worked various maintenance positions, and was especially curious about how mechanical and electronic things worked. He had an uncanny ability to fix anything. Most recently, Mark was a care giver for his favorite aunt, Virginia Gossman, and her late husband, Syl Gossman. Mark was a very family oriented person, and a kind and gentle soul. He was particularly proud of his daughters and grandchildren. He loved spending time with them and enjoyed spoiling his beagle, Ginger.
Mark was preceded in death by his mother in 1995; and his stepbrother, Wesley Miller, in 2013; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mark is survived by his daughters, Shannon (Daniel) Harmes, of Newburgh, Ind., and Tonya Roll Wilson (Amanda Ferguson), of Evansville, Ind.; his father and stepmother, Rex and Doris Roll, of Newburgh, Ind.; his brother, Steve (Jennifer) Roll, of Evansville, Ind.; sister, Fonda (Vernon) Poland, of Carmel, Ind.; stepbrother, Les Miller, of Chandler, Ind.; stepsister, Rhonda (Jack) Smith, of Newburgh, Ind.; grandchildren, Devon Holly, Katilyn Holly, Dante Harmes, Chace Harmes, Anthony Wilson, and Ashlynn Dillon; his Aunt Ginny, many cousins, aunts, uncles, and nieces and nephews.
A remembrance of Mark's life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 1 p.m. at The Gathering Place on the Browning Funeral Home Campus, 738 Diamond Avenue, Evansville, IN 47711. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until service time at The Gathering Place.
