Otha Thomas Obituary
Yankeetown, Ind.
Otha (Bud) Thomas passed away at his home June 20, 2015. Otha was born December 30, 1932 in Tennessee to his parents, Otha and Tina Mae (Hilton) Thomas.
He was a retired Tool and Die Maker and a Korean War Veteran, where he served as a paratrooper and made 21 jumps.
In the early 1950's, Otha was a pitcher in Triple A Baseball, who later became active in the fast pitch Softball League for Men in Evansville, as a pitcher.
Otha was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Imelda Sue (Fugate); his parents; brothers, Whimpfred and Earnest; sisters, Iva, Velma and Wilda Mae (Billie); son-in-law, Hal Swartz and beloved daughter-in-law, Kay Thomas.
He is survived by his children, Richard Thomas, Debra Thomas, Linda Thomas Swartz Underhill (Randal) and Cheryl Hart (Tim); grandchildren, Kevin (Jenny) Thomas, Richard Thomas Jr. (girlfriend, Christina Zeller), Alicia (Tim) Wesselman, James (Michelle) Thomas, Cathy (Eric) Ungetheim, Tina (Kasey) Phillips, Thomas (Valerie) Swartz, Summer Miller and Timothy Hart II; great-grandchildren, Shay and Seth Thomas, Ashley Merkel, Isaac and Miley Thomas, Allison and Andrew Zeller, Dalton, Gideon and Krispin Wesselman, Allison Thomas, Cody, Noah, Maggie and Chloe Ungetheim, Jackson, Mason, Owen and Lucy Phillips, Macie, Logan and Isabella Swartz, Lane, Daleigh and Caiden Miller; half-sisters, Devon and Diana; and longtime friend, neighbor and morning coffee buddy, Bud Clark.
Funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel. Burial in Bates Hill Cemetery in Yankeetown with military rites by the Warrick County Veterans Memorial Services.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
