Rita M. Hess
Tell City, Indiana — Rita Hess, 62, passed away Monday, May 30, 2011 at St. Mary's Medical Center.
She was born August 24, 1948 daughter of the late Luther and Fannie (Ferry) Hale. Also preceding her in death was a sister Katherine Hale, brothers, J.B., Harry, Carl and James Hale, and 3 nieces. Rita was united in marriage to Dennis Hess on January 24, 1987, in Jackson County, TN. She was Catholic by faith and a member of the K of C Auxiliary. She was a Qualified Medical Assistant at Gentle Care. Rita enjoyed boating, fishing and the outdoors.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Dennis; step-daughter Kathy Hess, Hawesville; step-son, Denny Hess, Tell City; sisters, Lucille Cole, Bowling Green, Dorothy Dupin, McDaniel, KY, Ruth Ann Compton, Breckinridge County, KY, Brenda Sue Haycraft, Rapid City, SD, Betty Berry, Breckinridge County, KY; brothers, Luther "Bud" Hale, Tell City and Ralph Hale, Bowling Green; 5 step-grandchildren, Amanda McCallister, Trista Hess, Matthew Hess, Autumn Zampardi and Brandon Esterly, 2 great step-grandchildren, Noah and Leyton.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 2, 2011at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rev. Dennis Duvelius will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Thursday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Perry County Animal Shelter. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family online at www.huberfuneralhome.net.
