Mt. Vernon, IN - Rita Jane McBride, 65, of Mt. Vernon, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at her home.
Rita was born October 17, 1954 in Evansville to the late Edward William and Mildred Irene (Durbin) Pfingston. She had worked for the Vanderburgh County Building Authority for 23 years before retiring. She enjoyed her annual trip to Panama City Beach, crocheting and collecting clocks.
Surviving Rita are her husband of 47 years, Loren McBride; two sons, Brian (Carol) McBride of Evansville and Michael McBride of Mt. Vernon; four sisters, Diane Pfingston, Marsha Lake, Patty Hite and Penny (Danny) Merritt; three brothers, James (Vivian) Courtney, Roger Courtney and Charles (Brenda) Pfingston, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Friends may gather with the family to celebrate Rita's life from 1:00 until 4:00 PM on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
