He was born June 25, 1939, in Smith Mills, Ky., to William Clayton Holland and wife Dorothy Yates Holland. He moved to Odessa in the late 1960s. He married Hellen V. Trimble on April 23, 1968 in Albuquerque, N.M. Robert "Bob" worked many years for various oilfield related companies. His hobbies were watching NASCAR racing and Dallas Cowboys football games. He also enjoyed tinkering around the house with various projects. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, William Clayton Holland, who was killed in action at the invasion of Normandy in 1944, his loving wife, Hellen Trimble Holland, in April 1993, and his daughter, Julie Diane Holland, in April 2004.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Williams of Petaluma, Calif.; sisters, Ann Bivens and husband, Lloyd, of Henderson, Ky., Wilma Joyce "Susie" Moore of Evansville, Ind.; Debbie Williams of Petaluma, Calif.; son, Robert D. "Scooby" Holland Jr. of Corydon, Ky.; daughters, Natalie Alves and husband, Bob, of Evansville, Terri Holland of Odessa, Connie Holland-Phelps and husband, David, of Odessa and "adopted" daughter, Juli Marshall of Odessa; 9 grandchildren, Nicole D. Holland Bowley and husband, Todd, of Robards, Ky., Clinton Holland of Seattle, Wash., Jessica Holland of Spotsville, Ky., Jeremy Holland of Henderson, Ky., Matthew Alves and wife Amy, Sarah Alves and Jacob Alves, all of Evansville, and Lexus and Lacie Phelps of Odessa, TX; 1 great-grandchild, Kaitlyn Bowley of Robards, Ky.; 1 uncle, 3 aunts and many cousins, nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Home Hospice for "keeping our dad comfortable and at home."
Our father requested that in lieu of flowers, all friends and family make a donation to their favorite charity.

To Natalie and Aunt Dorothy - May the love of the Lord our Good Shepherd comfort and surround you in this time of great loss - I can remember seeing Bobby in his work clothes when I was a small child and we lived in Henderson - such an impressive man - God Bless
