He was a member of Corydon Missionary Baptist Church. He was a retired heavy equipment operator with Operating Engineers Local 181. He was also a decorated Korean War U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of Corydon Masonic Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Proctor, who died February 12, 2002.
Survivors include four sons, Stephen D. and Karen Proctor of Grand Rivers, Kentucky, and Mark Proctor, John and Kristin Proctor and Dale and Jerri Proctor, all of Henderson; one sister, Ruby Niemeier of Evansville; two brothers, Carl Proctor of Petersburg, Indiana, and Kenneth Proctor of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Jenny, Beth, Adam, Stephanie, Stacey, Amisha, Daniel, Andrew and Meredith; one great-grandchild, Caleb; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. Dr. John Dunaway will officiate. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Christian Community Outreach.
