Evansville, Ind.
Sandra Gaines, 76, of Evansville, passed away at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at her home.
Sandra was born September 16, 1937, in Evansville, the daughter of the late George and Sarah (Leathers) Guthrie. She was a 1956 graduate of Bosse High School. In her early years, Sandra worked as a hairdresser. She was a loving homemaker and mother who loved her family and her cats dearly. Sandra was also active in the FOP Lodge #73 Auxiliary.
She is survived by son, Jimmie Gaines Jr. (Cindy), of Evansville; and sisters, Lois Clay (Carl), of Santee, S.C. and Stevie Knaebel (Ken), of St. Petersburg, FL.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Jimmie Gaines Sr. in 2005.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, with Reverend Dr. Dennis Davenport officiating. Private Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel.

Dear Jim and Cindy, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. I know you took care of both parents for many years and get such a great job. May God Bless you both. I am thinking of both of you. Sorry I could not come to the funeral home, I lost my mother on 12/21/13 and I am not ready to step inside a funeral home yet. May God help you both through this very difficult time.
