Stephan VanCleve Obituary
Evansville, IN - Stephan Allen Van Cleve, 81, of Evansville and Port Charlotte, FL, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital.
Steve was born February 1, 1939 in Shelbyville, IN to the late Edmund and Florence (Phares) Van Cleve. He was an optometrist and a partner in Specialty Eyecare of Evansville. Steve was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and the Indiana Optometric Board; served as president of the Indiana Optometric Association and was an adjunct professor of the Indiana School of Ophthalmology. Steve also served on the board of the Tarpon Harbor Community Association. Steve enjoyed traveling with his family and is now on to life's greatest adventure.
Surviving Steve are his wife of 31 years, Chris (Regan) Van Cleve; children, Stephan Bradley (Rhonda) Van Cleve, Melissa (Jay) Higgins, Shelby (Christopher Johnson) Van Cleve, Lauren (Kody) Steed and Alex (Hope) Van Cleve; grandchildren, Charlotte and Emily Van Cleve, Chad Horgan, Elizabeth and Tabetha Gissiner, Sam and Levi Higgins, Lincoln Ashby, Fenna Johnson and Corbin Steed.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 28, 2020 at Corpus Christi Church, Rev. Tyler Tenbarge officiating. Entombment will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 6:00 PM on Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street and from 9:00 AM until service time on Monday at Corpus Christi Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Church, 5528 Hogue Road, Evansville, IN 47712 or to the Moll Foundation for Haiti, 8024 Wolf Creek Court, Evansville, IN 47712.
