Stephen Lanning Obituary
Evansville, Ind.
Stephen W. Lanning, 60, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at VNA Charlier Hospice Center.
Stephen was born in Evansville, Indiana, on December 19, 1953, to the late, Irene (Holmes) Beierlein and James Benny Lanning. He graduated from Harrison High School in 1972, and most recently worked at Kight Custom Millwork as a cabinet maker. Stephen loved woodworking, he built his home at Barkley Lake from the ground up and was currently building a tree house.
Stephen is survived by his wife of 23 years, Linda (Fogle) Lanning; stepson, Tony (Teresa) Kerney, of Evansville, IN; sister, Jane (Bob) Leach, of South Port, NC; stepsisters, Linda (Bobby) Johnson and Cindy (Steve) Kees, both of Russellville, KY; uncle, George Holmes, of Colorado Springs, CO; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his cat, Houdini.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents; and stepfather, Alvin Beierlein.
A celebration of Stephen's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 E. Diamond Avenue, Evansville, IN 47711, with Rev. Matthew B. Schilling officiating.
Friends may visit with the family from 3 until 8 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2014, at Browning Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Deaconess VNA and Charlier Hospice Center, 610 E. Walnut Street, Evansville, IN 47713.

R.I.P old friend, Steve was one of my earliest and longest friends from Oak Hill Elementary...We had a good visit at our 25th Harrison reunion, we'll miss you Buddy!
