Mr. Steven Michael "Steve" Harbert, 36, entered this life on August 29, 1979 in Evansville, Indiana. He was the son of William Houghton Harbert and Tonia Lynn Bender Catiller who both survive. He was raised in Evansville and was a 1997 graduate of Central High School. Steve attended several trade schools as well as Ivy Tech. Steve was blessed with two sons, Dilan and Dalton with his late companion of thirteen years, Melissa Sue Weyer. He was later united in marriage to Jill McCartney on October 10, 2009 in Vevay. This union was blessed with a son, Ethan. Steve resided in East Enterprise Indiana for four years and in Madison/Milton communities the past 5 years. Steve was of the Christian faith and was a member of the Madison Jeep Club. He enjoyed boating, guns, fishing, tinkering, cars, stereo systems and 4-wheeling. Steve had worked for Kentucky Utilities as a welder with Amec Foster Wheeler and currently with A & D Constructors Inc. as a combo welder. Steve was engaged to Kathy Sexton Cline who he referred to as "My Love". Steve will be remembered for his smile and many friendships he made throughout his life. Steven died on Thursday, November 12, 2015, at 7:30 a.m. in a car accident near 7800 Hwy 36 in Carrollton, Kentucky.
Steven will be missed by his loving fiancee, Kathy Sexton Cline of Madison, Indiana; his loving sons, Dilan Michael Harbert of Evansville, Indiana, Dalton Matthew Harbert of Evansville, Indiana, Ethan Harbert of Vevay, Indiana; his step children, Camden and Madelyn Cline of both of Madison, Indiana; his grandmothers, Barbara Bender of Evansville, Indiana, Rose Harbert Leap of Vevay, Indiana; his brothers, Jason Harbert of Connecticut, T. J. Weyer of Madison, Indiana; Jake Weyer of Evansville, Indianahis sister, Amanda Harbert of serving in the U.S. Air Force, Texas; his sister in law, Kim Sage of Connecticut; his nieces, Emmalee and Rachel Harbert; his aunt, Jacque Baker of Texas and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, William R. "Bill" Harbert, died October 24, 2005, his grandmother, Sheilda Lockwood Bunnell died, January 13, 1996, his grandfather, Ray Bender, his companion of thirteen years, Melissa Sue Weyer died, June 13, 2007.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at 1:00 pm, by Pastor Mike Jones at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery,800 East Main Street in Vevay, Indiana
Friends may call Monday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
