Theodore Gerichs Obituary
Evansville - Theodore (Ted) Gerichs, Jr., 95, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born January 27, 1925, to the late Theodore Sr., and Helen (Godeke) Gerichs.
Ted retired from the US Postal Service in 1985, as a letter carrier. He and his son were hosts to a colony of purple martins for many years. He served in the US Army and thoroughly enjoyed his experience flying on the Honor Flight.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Galen Gene Gerichs; sisters, Esther Germann, Dorothy Steele, and Doris Damm Hudson.
Ted is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lillian (Meier) Gerichs; sister, Edna Benton; brother, Glenn Gerichs; nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service for family and close friends will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2020, at Salem Church Cemetery-Darmstadt, officiated by Rev. David Peterson. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
