Thomas Burke Obituary

Thomas R. Burke, 82, of Evansville, passed away on, Friday, August 10, 2007, at St. Mary's Medical Center.

Thomas was a carpenter. He was a member of Local 90 Carpenters, and a previous business agent of Lathers Union Local No. 4490. Thomas was a United States Army veteran serving in World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Mary Ann; sons, Gary W. Burke and his wife, Jina, and J. Scott Burke and his wife, Jo, all of Evansville; daughters, Carolyn Gray and her husband, Bob, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Lisa K. Burke of Evansville; grandchildren, Alexander and Nicholas Gray, Sarah, Vanessa and Devin Burke, Mackenzie Nieten and Jeremy Belwood; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jo Hopper of Indianapolis. Thomas is also survived by his faithful dog, Rainey.

He is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Pamela (Hawkins) Burke; three brothers; and a grandson.

Services 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 14, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 South Hebron Avenue, Evansville, Indiana 47714, with Father Bernard Etienne officiating. Visitation is 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 13, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel. Memorial contribution can be made to the Vanderburgh Humane Society, P.O. Box 6711, Evansville, Indiana 47719-6711.
