Thomas David "Tom" Wright, age 66, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the Columbia Healthcare Center.
Tom had worked as a technician for AT&T for 36 years before his retirement. He was a member of Howell United Methodist Church and the St. Philip Conservation Club. He loved to watch NASCAR, fish, play cards and spend time with his family and friends.
Surviving Tom are his wife of 12 years, Karen (Schneider) Wright; two daughters, Debbie (Tom) Smith of Independence, KY and Susan (Dan) McCamish of Evansville; a son, Tommy (Amy) Wright of Evansville; two stepsons, Jimmy Payne and Daniel (Crystal) Payne, both of Evansville; three sisters, Linda Thompson of Wadesville, Betty Maddox of Santa Claus and Nancy Ahlbrand of Newburgh; two brothers, Bill (Evelyn) Wright of Plant City, FL and Ed (Rhonda) Wright of Boonville and fifteen grandchildren. Also surviving Tom are his ex-wife and mother of his children, Pat Turpin and her mother, Jane Tong.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Juanita and Melvin Schmittler, his father, Thad Wright; a sister, Nola Parker and former father-in-law, Fred Tong.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Rhonda Moore officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice and their staff for the compassionate care given to Tom.
