Mrs. Crawford was a beautician at Estelle's Beauty Shop for over thirty years and more recently at Cloverleaf Beauty Shop. She attended the First Christian Church of Mt. Vernon. Ginny was a homemaker and created many heirloom quilts given to family and friends. Ginny loved children, especially her grandchildren, whom she and Dellas spent much time with.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Joyce Kueber Crawford and Jerry and Sheri Crawford, all of Mt. Vernon; two grandchildren, Erin Crawford and her significant other, Chad Gamblin, and Jeremy Crawford; two great-grandchildren, Logan Crawford and Kailie Gamblin; five sisters, D.K. Preutz of Houston, Texas, Lois Hatter of Houston, Texas, Frankie Matocha of Pearland, Texas, Carol Eaves of Pasadena, Texas, and Joyce Harley of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Oscar, Jimmy, Bobby and Wayne DeWitt, and two sisters, Dorothy Taylor and Doris Jackson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2009, at the Austin Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to services. Burial will be in Bethsaida Cemetery near Stewartsville, Ind. Memorials may be given to the Shriner's Hospital for Children. Online condolences may be left at Austinfuneralhome.com.
