William Robert "Bobby" DePriest

William DePriest Obituary

William Bobby DePriest, 68, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2006, with his

wife Mary at his side.

Bobby was born March 2, 1938, in Cleveland, Tennessee, to the late Roberta and Clarence (stepfather) Holland. He attended school in Chicago, Ill.

Bobby was employed by the Evansville Housing Authority. He was ordained in 1999 as a Deacon for Church of God in Christ.

Bobby was formerly a Century member of Buffalo Trace Council and district commissioner. He was a volunteer for Vista and a baseball coach sponsored by Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel. He received the Community Service Award from Omega Phi Psi Beta Chapter. He was a member of the Kentucky Wrestling Association, and wrestled with B.W.A. Bobby's greatest gift was helping others. He loved people.

Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Mary DePriest (Byrne); daughters, Laquanda Pike, Evansville, Trisha Roesco (Kevin), Kansas City, Mo., and Angel DePriest, Evansville; sons, Geno Pike (Michelle), Evansville, Doctor Carlos Pike (Jackie), Fort Campbell, Ky., and Malcolm DePriest, Evansville; grandkids; great-grandkids; sisters, Sarah Cooper and Helen Holland, both of Terre Haute, Ind., Dorman Holland, Indianapolis, Mary Katherine Holland, Evansville, and Joan Holland, Hopkinsville, Ky.; brothers, Edward Holland (Shirley), Greg Holland (Scherilla), and LaTroy (Velma), all of Evansville; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Homegoing services will be held at noon on Friday at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, the Rev. Todd Robertson officiating, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, with a Wake service from 6 to 8 p.m., at Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel in Evansville.

Final care and arrangements are entrusted to Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel, 1001 Lincoln Ave., Evansville, Ind., 47714, (812)-421-8692.
