Charlotte Trafzer Obituary
Charlotte Jean Fields Trafzer, lovingly known as "Charley," age 72, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025, surrounded by her immediate family.
Born on July 24, 1952, to Royal and Jean Fields, Charley grew up with a heart full of kindness and a strong sense of family and faith. She married the love of her life, James "Jim" Trafzer, on September 27, 1969, and together they built a beautiful life. Jim and Charley proudly owned and operated Trafzer Excavating, turning their family business into a cornerstone of the community. But Charley's most cherished roles were being "the best Mom" and "Me-maw," titles she wore with pride. Her love for her family was fierce, her guidance unwavering, and her heart knew no bounds.
Charley adored spending time with family and friends, could never resist anything peach-themed, and had a soft spot for bad sci-fi movies and good books. She lived her life by strong Christian principles, always putting others before herself. Whether she was cheering on her grandchildren at their activities or volunteering with her church or local groups, Charley poured her heart into helping others. She opened her home and her heart to anyone who needed it.
Charley is survived by her loving husband Jim; her children Ben (Serena) Trafzer, Sara (the late Michael Blank) Trafzer, and bonus son Conan (Kristen) Lane; her cherished grandchildren Garrett (Paige) Trafzer, Dillon Trafzer, and Carson Trafzer; and her precious great-granddaughters Emma and Abigail Trafzer. She is also survived by her sister Gwendolyn (the late Harry Kramer) Kramer and brother Gary (Marilyn) Fields. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved sister, Carol (Donald) Burton, who no doubt greeted her in heaven with open arms.
Charley's living room was adorned with the quote: "Whatever you are, be a good one." Charley not only lived by those words-she embodied them every day of her life. Her love, kindness and laughter will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
