Evelyn White Obituary
Evelyn E. White, age 66, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025 at Marion Valley Post Acute.
On December 21, 1958 Evelyn was born in Ashland, Ohio. The daughter of the late John M. and Edna K. (Martin) Tolliver. Evelyn attended Ashland High School and graduated with the Class of 1977. On September 28, 1991 Evelyn married her soulmate Harold L. White. The loving couple shared 33 marvelous years together.
Evelyn's greatest joy and highest honor in life was being a mother. She devoted her heart to raising her children, always guiding them with love, patience, and encouragement as they grew. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her own family, Evelyn was affectionately known as "Momma White" by many in her community and church. Whether she was driving a car full of children to school, practice, or Sunday service, Evelyn's presence was always marked by warmth, laughter, and care.
Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she found deep fulfillment in serving her church. Evelyn was a proud and active member, joyfully raising her voice in the choir and faithfully teaching Sunday school to countless children over the years. Together with her husband, she was also an active part of her church's Life Group, which met every Sunday evening for fellowship and often gathered for dinners at parishioners' homes. Through these acts of service, she touched lives, planted seeds of faith, and built lasting bonds with her church family.
Evelyn had a gift for making friends wherever she went. She could never go into a store or restaurant without running into someone she knew, and she always had a smile and kind word to share. After retirement, she cherished spending time with her work and church friends, often gathering for lunches filled with stories, laughter, and love.
She was also a devoted Ohio State Buckeyes fan, proudly cheering on her team every season with the same loyalty and enthusiasm she gave to every part of her life.
Evelyn will be remembered for her unwavering love, her giving spirit, and her ability to make everyone feel like family. Her legacy lives on in the children she cherished, the friends she uplifted, and the community she so selflessly served.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband, Harold White; children: Andrew White and Angelica White; brothers: John M. (Diane) Tolliver Jr. and Jeffrey M. Tolliver; sister, Susan A. Miller; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Eveyln was preceded in death by her parents: John Matt Toliver Sr. and Edna Karen (Martin) Tolliver.
