James Heisel Obituary

James Dee Heisel, 91, of Marion, OH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, just missing his birthday. When Jim was born in 1933, both his father John Anthony and his mother Enid Fern Roseberry Heisel were quite alive; neither were yet late, in Marion. James served his country after enlisting into the U.S. Air Force after graduating from Marion Harding High School in 1951. After he left the service, he worked at the Erie Railroad company that was eventually bought out by Conrail. James loved his family and treated his nephews and nieces like his own children. He belonged to the Masons as well. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf. James is preceded in death his parents, his brothers, Jack Ralph Heisel and Dwight Richard Heisel, sister, Enid Margene Heisel. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Steve Heisel, Johanna Heisel LaRoche, Dwight Richard Heisel II, John Heisel, Dirk Heisel, Dana Heisel. The Heisel family would like to invite Jim's loved ones and family to join them for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Boyd Funeral Home. There will be an interment service held at the Grand Prairie Cemetery immediately following the Celebration of Life.
