Johnny Friley Obituary

Johnny E. "Whitey" Friley, Sr., age 64, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. On April 11, 1960 Whitey was born in Plain City, Ohio. The son of the late Cecil E. and Edna M. (Blevins) Friley. Whitey worked as a mechanic at various locations, some including: oil rigs, Conns Auto, and Alloy. Johnny was a man of many passions, each one reflecting his adventurous spirit and his deep connection to life's simple pleasures. In his spare time, Johnny found great joy in working on cars, where his hands worked magic, bringing life to machines and sharing his vast knowledge with anyone who asked. His love for craftsmanship and detail never went unnoticed. A true outdoorsman at heart, Johnny reveled in the serenity of hunting and fishing. Whether he was casting a line into a quiet stream or tracking through the woods, he found peace in nature's embrace, always respecting the world around him. Above all, Johnny cherished his time spent with his grandchildren. Their laughter and joy filled his heart, and he was the kind of grandfather who took delight in every moment with them: whether it was playing games, telling stories, or just sharing a quiet afternoon. Johnny's love for adventure extended to his cherished Harley motorcycle. The open road called to him, and he felt at home on his bike, the wind in his hair, the world unfolding ahead of him. His zest for life was infectious, and his passion for freedom and exploration will be fondly remembered. Johnny's spirit, warmth, and laughter will live on in the memories of his family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed, but his love will continue to guide those who were lucky enough to know him. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved girlfriend, Tina Lust; children: Johnny (Carisa) Friley Jr., Carolea Friley, Erika Justice, Ami Friley, and Melanie French; mother of his youngest, Pixie Crawford; step-children: Amanda (John) Lust, Ceirra (Brandon) Conell, James (Ashley) Lust, Kayla (Joey) Scott, and Brent (Brittney) Lust; grandchildren: Kaitlyn Friley, Dakota Friley, Caleb Friley, Faith Friley, Meagen Lamblin, Dustin Lamblin, Caroline Lamblin, Ranezimae Friley, Zeevha Friley, Richie Hafer, and Makaela Justice; numerous great-grandchildren; siblings: Wilma (Fred) Farmer, Betty (Donny) Kinnison, Roger (Lisa) Friley, Connie (John) McVitty, Ruth (Jeff Champer) Friley, and Lois Stapleton; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Whitey was preceded in death by his daughter: Patricia; brothers: Cecil, Buddy, Kenneth, and Pearl Jr.; and sisters: Bonnie Gloria and Ina Mae. Visitation will be held 2-4PM; Wednesday, March 5, 2025; at Snyder Funeral Homes, Denzer Chapel; 360 E. Center Street Marion, OH 43302. Funeral Ceremony will follow at 4PM.
