Kimberly Steed Obituary

Kimberly K. "Kim" Steed, age 66, of Marion and formerly of New Bloomington, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Marion General Hospital following a brief illness. On December 10, 1958, Kim was born in the former San Antonio Hospital in Kenton, Ohio, the youngest of four children of the late Benton E. Denman Jr. and Jacqueline Joan (O'Connell) Denman. A lifelong resident of Marion County, Kim graduated from Elgin High School. For much of her career, Kim worked on the assembly line at the Whirlpool Corporation in Marion, where she was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. She reluctantly retired when back pain made it too difficult to continue doing the work she loved. On November 16, 1979, Kim married the love of her life, Randal W. "Randy" Steed, in the wedding teepee in New Bloomington, Ohio. Together they shared 26 wonderful years of marriage until his passing on February 15, 2005. Kim had a heart overflowing with love and compassion. She was the family's caregiver, always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She cherished time spent with her husband, siblings, nieces, and great-nieces and nephews-her family was truly the center of her world. An avid animal lover, Kim always had a faithful dog by her side. Her beloved companions, Shadow and the late Molly, held a special place in her heart. Kim's creativity shone through in everything she did. She loved crafting gifts for every occasion and was especially known for her holiday treats-anything that could be dipped in chocolate was her specialty! She also enjoyed traveling, with her favorite adventures being a cruise through Alaska and a trip to visit elephants in Texas with her sister, Karen. Kim will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and generous spirit. She had an independent nature and wasn't afraid to speak her mind, yet her love for others always came first. She touched the lives of all who knew her and will be deeply missed. She will be missed by her siblings: Karen (Jon) Uhl of Georgetown, TX, and John Denman of Marion; 6 nieces: Tami (Chris) Young, Serena (Brett) Lamensky, Chris (Chester) Blanton, Tara (Joe) Blanton, Nikki (Nick) Malo, and Jodie (Tyler) Haas; several great nieces and great nephews; and her sister-in-law, Cheryl Steed. Including her husband and parents, Kim was preceded in death by her brother and two sisters-in-law: Michael (Connie) Denman and Kathy Denman. Her family will greet friends from 11 AM to Noon on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Snyder Funeral Homes, DENZER Chapel, 360 E. Center St., Marion, OH, with Pastor Pamela Lamb-Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in LaRue. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marion Area Humane Society via this link (https://mahspets.org/ways-to-give/) or they may be sent to the care of the funeral home.
