Lareitta Ginder Obituary
Lareitta May (Jacobs) Ginder, 87, has gone to heaven to be with the Lord and the love of her life, her husband of almost 71 years Harvey Ginder.
Lareitta "Rite" was born in Galion where she lived her whole life to the late Lloyd Henry Jacobs and Pauline (Caris) Polson.
Lareitta was the proud and loving mother of four daughters: Karen Jean (Edward) Sterner of Galion, Debora Kay (Jackie) Mullins, of Galion, Cathy Mae (Richard) Schnelker of McKee, KY and Tammy Lynn Glenn (Dave Jones) of Galion, seven grandchildren Christian (William) Wolfe, Missy McCleese, Shannon (Jim) Baker, Tory (Jenny) Mullins, Jen (Matt) Troiano, Josh (Kai) Glenn and Jordan Glenn. She was surrounded in life by 27 great grandchildren and 29 great-great grandchildren, sisters: Correina Boyce of Galion and Kim Searman of Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will always remember how after 71 years of marriage to her beloved Harvey, they still held hands. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren for her love and kindness and always making them laugh.
One of her greatest pleasures in life was cooking for her family. She loved baking cookies for her grandchildren and her church. Lareitta and Harvey attended Free Methodist Church in early years and attended Iberia Community Church for the past 20 years faithfully. Besides being a homemaker, she worked as a part-time cook for Dawsett School in earlier years. She retired after working alongside Harvey for 30 years at United Church Directories.
Although our hearts are broken and she will be greatly missed by all that knew her, we have comfort in knowing she is where she wanted to be with her beloved husband and in the arms of the Lord.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her five siblings: James Goodall, Catherine Miller, and Lloyd, Billy and Sonny Jacobs and her beloved little dog Febe.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 18. Burial will follow at Iberia Cemetery.
