Otto Henry Obituary
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 11am, in Homestead Memorial Gardens Greenville, NC.
Otto attended Boston University where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Music Theory. He also received a Master's Degree in Composition. Otto earned a Doctorate from Tulane University. He joined the faculty of East Carolina University in 1968, where he worked until his retirement in 1998.
Otto served in the United States Army during the 1950's. He was stationed in Panama where played in the US Army Band during his time in service.
Otto loved playing music. Among the various instruments we could play, he was an accomplished and passionate player of the French Horn. He played in various musical groups in the community.
Otto was a long-time member of the Pitt County Wildlife club. He spent many afternoons at the club and served for several years on the board. Otto was known by many, yet close to a few.
Otto is survived by his close friends: Carol and Andy Haven, Stephanie Edwards, Jim and Gail Marsal.
