Marjorie L. Auck, 93, died Thursday, September 11, 2025.
She was born in Bucyrus on April 2, 1932, the youngest of nine children, to the late Charles H. and Liddie L. (Barth) Bardon. She graduated from Wyandot High School in 1950 and married Charles F. Auck on July 2, 1950. Charles preceded her in death in 2023.
Marge was a diligent worker and entrepreneur. After working for TenEyck Florist, Foulk Drug, and Drs. Teynor and Waite, she was the owner/operator of the Rustic Inn Restaurant. After retiring, she worked with Gebhardt Auctions and she also was a successful Avon Lady for many years. In addition to work, Marjorie was a Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack 44, a member of the former Epworth UMC, and an avid bowler. She was secretary of the Bucyrus Women's Bowling Association, state officer in the Ohio Women's Bowling Association, and past champion of the Bucyrus Women’s Invitational.
Marge will be remembered for her quick wit and sharp tongue. She enjoyed supporting her grandchildren at their games or events and never missed her hair appointment every Thursday. At home, many crosswords were solved and jigsaw puzzles put together. She was very lucky at scratching off winning lotto tickets and also collected coins, kept the squirrels fed, and enjoyed the company of her pet cat.
Marjorie is survived by daughters, Deborah (Alva) Wadkins and Linda (Glenn) Grubb; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Auck; grandchildren, Cresha (Todd) Louks, Michelle (Chad) Zeigler, Missy (Kip) Combs, Amy Williams, Todd (Nicole) Moore, Kristi Sullivan, Jeremiah Wadkins, Adam (Karen) Wadkins, Rosie Sponseller, Sheila (John) Hart, and Chrissy (Dan) Sauer; 20 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; and 2 great-great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband of 73 years, Marjorie was preceded in death by son, Gary Auck; granddaughter, Robin Johnson; and eight siblings, Maybelle Haraway, Floidie Bowers, Harold Bardon, Pauline Holwager, Evelyn Wolbert, Donald Bardon, Naomi Edgington, and Barbara Riedlinger.
Services will be held on Wednesday, September 17 at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus. Family will receive friends from 1-1:55 pm and the funeral will begin at 2:00 pm with Certified Celebrant, Lisa Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made payable to a charity of the donor’s choice and given at the funeral home. Memories and photos can be shared on the guestbook of Marge’s tribute page at www.wisefuneral.com.

Debbie, Linda and all the families, I was sad to see that Marjorie passed away. I have fond memories of going to Woodlawn Elementary School. . .parties, musical programs, and the PTA. I really liked your mom (grandma, etc). My mom knew your parents. And I have fond memories of eating at the Rustic Inn. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
