Mary E. Thibaut

Mary E. Thibaut, age 99, of Marion, died on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the Primrose Retirement Community following an extended illness. On August 31, 1926, Mary was born in Marion, Ohio, one of five children of the late James Ralph Sigler and Ruth A. (Hablitzel) Sigler. On November 10, 1946, she married Paul Norman Thibaut, and together they shared 55 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2002. Mary was the social butterfly at the Primrose Retirement Community, where her fun loving, cheerful spirit will be missed by all her friends there. Left to cherish her memory are her two sons: Kenneth C. (Susan) Thibaut of Las Vegas, NV, and Michael A. Thibaut of Marion; three grandsons: Jason, Troy and Chuck Thibaut; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Donna Shaffer of Upper Sandusky, and Sharon Hamm of Marion; and numerous nieces and nephews. Including her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Jill Thibaut; two brothers: I. Richard and Lester C. Sigler; and two brothers-in-law: Edward Shaffer and Delbert Hamm. Services honoring her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025 at her graveside in Marion Cemetery, with Pastor Jerry Campbell officiating.
