Shirley McGinniss Obituary

Shirley Marguerite McGinniss, 81, entered the loving arms of her Lord and Savior while at rest on January 27th, 2025 while visiting family in Georgia. On January 23, 1943 Shirley was born and raised in Marion, Ohio to the late Clarence and Marguerite Sipe. She definitely didn't lack for Family. She had five Brothers, Paul Compston, Mahlon Sipe, John Adams, Clarence Sipe (Junior), as well as two sisters, Esther Hulsey and Wilma Cook. John, Esther and Clarence are left to mourn the loss of their sister. She married the late Bradley McGinniss, to whom she was married to for over 60 yrs. Together they had four sons Doug, Dean, Marlon and Brian (Kari) McGinniss all of Marion Ohio. She was lovingly known as Grandma or just Ma to her grandchildren, Dustin, Christoper, Nathaniel, Corey, Rayne, Noah, Keatton, Kenton, Storm and Elijah McGinniss. She was a firm believer in God and Family first and foremost, she also enjoyed sitting in the picture window or on the front porch of her home, watching the birds and the stray animals that she constantly fed. She was employed at Tecumseh until the plant was shut down. Shirley enjoyed taking care of people and worked at East Lawn Manor for several years. Shirley left East Lawn Manor to work at Maple Wood Nursing Home to take care of her mother and father-in-law until they passed. Shirley then went to work at Honda for ten years before she retired. Left cherish her memory are her loving sons: Dean McGinniss, Marlon McGinniss, and Brian (Kari) McGinniss; grandchildren: Nathan McGinniss, Corey McGinniss, Rayne (Drake) McCallen, Storm (Caitlynn) McGinniss, Keatton (Jessica) McGinniss, Dustin McGinniss, Noah McGinniss, Elijah McGinniss, Kenton Redmond; great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Adeline, Amora, Navi, Lincoln, Camille, Christophe; and siblings: Esther (Floyd) Husley, John (Sue) Adams, Clarence "Junior"(Marie) Sipe; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bradley McGinniss; infant son; Doug McGinniss; siblings: Malhon Sipe, Ralph Sipe, Paul Compston, Guy Adams, and Wilma (Thomas) Cook; Christopher McGinniss Visitation will be 12NOON-2PM; Wednesday, February 5, 2025; at Snyder Funeral Homes GUNDER/HALL Chapel; 347 W. Center Street, Marion, OH 43302. Funeral Ceremony will follow at 2PM, with Pastor Patrick Mazani, officiating. Graveside Service to follow at Chapel Heights Memory Garden. Sorry to hear about Shirley passing . I have known Shirley for 70 years or more sense I was a Child .. The Sipes were like Family to me .. Shirley was a God Fearing Women. She will be Dearly Missed by all who knew her.Sending Condolences to her Families
