Vonda Bails Obituary
Vonda Lee Bails, 85, of Marysville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at The Ohio State University Hospital. Born on June 29, 1940, to the late Vern Plotner and Gladys Imboden, Vonda grew up surrounded by a loving family. On January 30, 1965, she married the love of her life, John R. Bails. Together they shared 58 wonderful years before his passing on April 29, 2023. Their bond was inseparable, and their love for one another immeasurable.
Vonda worked for Abbotts for fifteen years and more than a decade as a clerical worker at Kable Fulfillment Company before retiring. Outside of work, she lived life to the fullest. She loved dancing, capturing every memory through photos, and shopping for little joys. She also enjoyed visiting casinos, cheering for her beloved Ohio State Buckeyes, and rarely went anywhere without her coffee in hand. Family gatherings brought her the greatest joy, as her love for family was always at the heart of her life. In her later years, Vonda found great comfort and joy living at the Bluebird Retirement Community. She cherished the friendships she formed there and deeply appreciated the warmth and care shown to her by both the residents and staff.
She had a passion for country music, especially Randy Travis, whose songs her husband would always play during their car rides together. She also loved listening to her brother Butch's band. Vonda and John also shared a love of motorcycle rides, adding adventure to their many years of marriage.
Vonda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; sisters, Norma Cooper and Sylvia Williams; brother, Butch A. Plotner; and daughter, Karen Marie Bails.
She is survived by her daughters, Christine Ann (Martin) Einloth and Michelle Lynn (Billy) Day; sisters, Rose Hamm and Ruth Gates; grandchildren, Tim (Alicia) Einloth, Cecila (Craig) Worsham, Bobbi Marie Day, and Silas Day; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will cherish her memory. Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 12:00–1:00 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Joe Harrison officiating. Interment will take place immediately after at Marion Cemetery.
