Aaron Kime Obituary
Liberty Township - Aaron Andrew Kime, age 48, of Liberty Township, Ohio, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 3, 2024. Aaron was born on December 20, 1975, in Napoleon, OH to Thomas and Pamela (Knipp) Kime of Defiance, Ohio.
Aaron was a 1994 graduate of Tinora High School in Defiance, Ohio, where he was the Valedictorian of his class. Even after starting his career and family in Cincinnati, Ohio, Aaron was blessed to have maintained close friendships with his high school classmates, who lovingly refer to him as "AK."
Aaron then attended the University of Cincinnati where he earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1999. Aaron also held a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Xavier University. In Cincinnati, Aaron established another group of lifelong friends and met his wife, Maria Hicks. The Hicks family quickly embraced Aaron, and he became an irreplaceable part of their family. Aaron enjoyed being on the water and boating with his family and friends.
Aaron and his family are parishioners at St. Maximillian Kolbe Church in Liberty Township, OH. Aaron was a follower of Christ and lived his life through Jesus' example of love for one another.
Aaron worked at Finn Corp. in Fairfield, Ohio, as the Director of Engineering. He was hardworking and dedicated to anything in which he took part.
Born a true engineer, Aaron loved disassembling things just so he could put them back together again. Aaron exceled at everything he did. One could not ask too much of him, as he would always rise to the task at hand gladly and with a cheerful heart.
Aaron was very intellectually gifted. He was equally full of personality, a genuinely kind soul, and loved to laugh and socialize with his friends and family, who will fondly remember his uncanny wit, one-liners, and contagious laugh. Aaron was truly kindhearted, and to know him was to know one of the best.
In 2004, Aaron married the love of his life, Maria Hicks. Aaron and Maria have three children: Chloe, William, and Andrew. Aaron was a devoted husband and father and was unwavering in his love for his family.
Aaron was also a wonderful brother to his sister, Kate, who will forever cherish her strong bond with him and greatly miss their constant sibling banter.
Aaron was preceded in death by his grandparents: Irvin and Lucille (Westrick) Kime and Donald A. and Elaine (Rollins) Knipp. He was also preceded in death by his Uncle Donald L. Knipp, who encouraged and shared Aaron's love of engineering.
Left to cherish Aaron's memory are his loving wife, Maria, and children, Chloe, William, and Andrew; his proud parents, Tom and Pam Kime; and his sister, Kathryn (Joseph) Webb. Aaron is also survived by Bill and Jean Hicks; David (Katie) Hicks and Jeremy (Catherine) Hicks; nieces and nephews: Luke, Isaac (Ike), and Eliza Webb and Gracie, Hailey, Caleb, Henry, and Isabelle Hicks; aunts, uncles, and cousins, too numerous to list; his Aunt Dianne Knipp, who was special to him; and countless friends from all stages of his life.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6410 Cincinnati Dayton Road, Liberty Township, OH 45044. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Maximillian Kolbe Church, 5720 Hamilton Road, Liberty Township, OH 45011. Interment will follow the funeral mass.
Aaron will be deeply missed by everyone who was blessed to have known him. In memory of Aaron, we encourage those who loved him to live life with a joyful heart, work hard, and never stop learning.
