Brenda Eakins Obituary
Brenda is survived by a son, Dan (Judy) Eakins of Paulding; five grandchildren: Aaron (Ashley) Sherry, Andrea (Adam) Ricker, Cassandra (Gabe) Pardo, Zachary Sherry and Gabriel (Gabe) Hill; and eleven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sisters: Connie (Richard) Weller of Defiance and Lottie (Jim) Hahn of Cecil.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Darold (Butch) Dimock; and sister, Karen (Toots) Hughes.
Upon graduating high school, Brenda worked at the Dickie Tent Factory in Oakwood as a seamstress making tents along with her sister, Lottie (Bell) Hahn. In 1966, she married Ronald L. Eakins of Charloe. She and Ron worked at the Charloe Store for his parents, Carson and Donaldine Eakins. In 1968, their only son, Daniel Eakins was born. In 1971, she and her former spouse, Ron, built R&B Fabrications Inc. from the ground up in a one car garage. Brenda also served for over 25 years with the Oakwood Volunteer Fire Department and EMS. In 1995, Brenda retired and sold her interest in R&B Fabrications to her son. She spent the remaining years enjoying life to the fullest and traveling with her cousin, Susan Yoh. For the last 2 1/2 years, she resided at Trustwell Assisted Living in Defiance. She loved helping the other residents and playing cards with her best friends Darbe, Pattie and Bobbie on Friday evenings. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Defiance.
A one-day visitation and service will be held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, November 10, 2025, at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood. Funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. with her lifetime friend, Pastor Carol Retcher officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Trustwell Assisted Living Fund for Residents.

You have my Deepest Sympathy. What a unique person. I can still see her stomping into The Honda Center and whipping off her leather gloves. Saying: "My moped stopped running and I had to push it 2 blocks." Turned out, she ran out of gas. Years later, We had many laughs over that.
