Brenda Leonard

ANGOLA, Ind. - Brenda Leonard of Angola, Indiana (formerly Defiance, Ohio), passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 11, at Defiance Hospice CHP surrounded by her loved ones. After 4.5 years of battling, she succumbed to her cancer.

She was born on January 18, 1968, to the late Leo and Janet (Price) Sholl. She married Tim Leonard on February 25, 1994, and celebrated 28 loving years together.

Brenda was taken too soon but lived a wonderful life. She worked in banking for over 30 years as an executive assistant. She participated in a women's golf league for several years before moving full time to their lake home, where she enjoyed spending her time on a boat out on the water. She also loved vacationing to warm and tropical places with Tim and other family members. Anyone who knew Brenda knew she was a fighter and fight until the end she did.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Tim, her daughter, Tori (Alex Gajowski), and her step-sons, Eric (Lisa) Leonard and Kyle Leonard. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Aria, Eli, Ezra and Harper Leonard, her sister, Sara Fogt of Defiance, and her two brothers, Mark (Yolanda) Sholl of Toledo, and Gery Sholl of Continental. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, and beloved dog, Madi.

A memorial visitation will be held from noon-4 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2022, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Defiance, with a service to follow at 4:30 p.m., with Pastor Dave Brobston officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to Defiance CHP or Fort Wayne Heartland Hospice.
