Mildred Bostelman

Defiance - Mildred Helen (Gobrogge) Bostelman, 91, of Defiance, Ohio, went home to the Lord on Monday, October 13, 2025. She was born on October 16, 1933, to the late Martin and Martha (Benien) Gobrogge in Hamler, Ohio. On January 31, 1955, she married Marvin Bostelman, and he preceded her in death on September 5, 1987.

She was a faithful member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Okolona, where she would often devote her time helping with funeral dinners. Mildred was a loving farm wife for most of her life and would always keep busy with various tasks on the farm, walking, gardening, and reading her daily devotions. She was a member of Ridgeville American Legion Post 454, where she catered for many events with various friends. She also enjoyed working and caring for people through Lutheran Services for 19 years. Mildred would often bake pies and coffee cakes for family.

Mildred is survived by her children, Jean (Vince) Herman, Janice (Chuck) Leopold, Judy (Bill) Haase, John (Karen) Bostelman, Julie (William) Schudel, and Joann (Darren) Yackee; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren (With two on the way); sister, Margaret Phlipot; sister-in-law, Marilyn Behrman; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Bostelman; son, James Bostelman; and siblings, Janette Edmonds, Richard Gobrogge, as well as stillborn infant twins, Mary Ann and Mary Lou Gobrogge.

Services for Mildred will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Okolona on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 12 p.m., noon. Visitation will be held on the same day from 10 a.m. until time of services. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Elara Home Care and Hospice, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, or Glenn Park of Defiance.
