Eric Woods Obituary

Eric Wayne Woods, 30, of 3360 Auburn Road, Crestview, died peacefully in his sleep Dec. 8, 2012, in Franklin, Ind.

Visitation is 12-2 p.m. Dec 15 at Brackney Funeral Service, 480 James Lee Blvd., Crestview, with a celebration of Eric's life to follow at his residence on Auburn Road.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Erma Welch, Murl and Nell Woods and dear friend Michael Jarriel.

Survivors include his fiancée, Tara Hurlbert of Crestview; parents, Linda Welch-Turner (Donald) of Holt, and Danny Wayne Woods (Grace) of Franklin; sister, Nikole Woods; brother-in-law, Ben Guzman, of Fort Walton Beach; nephews, Logan Brannon and Julian Guzman; nieces, Sky Guzman and Hailey Guzman; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

Eric was a 2001 graduate of Crestview High School and served in the Marines, receiving a National Defense Service Medal, Rifle Marksman Badge and a Good Conduct Medal.

He had a huge variety of work skills, with the last being a forklift operator, which took him to Franklin (where he got to spend time with his dad).

He loved sports, from playing basketball at Twin City Park with his friends to watching football and always rooting for the SAINTS!
He enjoyed helping others, and was just a phone call away. He loved his family and friends and met no strangers. All that knew him appreciated his sense of humor. He loved life and lived it to the fullest.

Honorary pallbearers are Christi and Randy Hendrix, Ryan, Elisa, Lauren and Christopher Hendrix, Krisha Hendrix, Jennifer Hall Patrick and all THE BOYS OF AUBURN.
