Steven Michael Altepeter

Steven Michael Altepeter, 41, died on Saturday, November 10th at his home in Fertile, MN.
Steve entered this world on March 9, 1977 in Crookston, MN, son of Mike and Sheryl (Erickson) Altepeter and brother of Heather.
He grew up and attended school in Red Lake Falls, MN and graduated from Lafayette High School in 1997. He attended college at NCTC in East Grand Forks, MN earning a degree in plumbing. A few years later, Steve worked towards his CDL and found his love for driving 18-wheelers.
Family was everything to Steve and his greatest joy was spending time with his 4 children. He loved taking them to movies, going on walks with them and his dog, Charlie, and taking the kids for 3-wheeler rides and snowmobile rides. Steve also enjoyed hunting on his family's land outside of Red Lake Falls, camping, reading books/articles and listening to music. Steve was a history buff and preferred watching shows based on true stories. Steve was also a member of AA and loved his AA family. For those that knew Steve, he was a softy and had a big heart. He would have given his last dime to whomever needed. Steve was loved by many, especially his family.
Steve is survived by his parents, Mike and Sheryl Altepeter, Red Lake Falls, MN; Children: Shawna (19), (mother- Crystal Anderson) Grand Forks, ND, Tristan (15), Kaylee (7), and Zachary (6) Fertile, MN, and ex-wife/friend Stacey (Setness) Altepeter; sister, Heather (David) Thingvold Moorhead, MN; nephews; Alec and Christian; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other friends and family members.
Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents Henry and Dorothy (Dubuque) Altepeter and Bill and Fritz (Fredrickson) Erickson and several loved ones.
Memorial Service: 11:30AM Monday, November 19, 2018, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Fertile, MN.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the church.
Burial: Private family interment at a later date.
