WESLEY FAUL Obituary

WESLEY FAUL October 4, 1926 - December 6, 2023 Wesley "Wes" Faul was born to Charlie and Bertha Faul on October 4, 1926, in Harvey, N.D. and departed his earthly home on December 6, 2023, while at Benedict House in Rochester. In 1963, he moved his young family from Harvey to Crookston where he lived until moving to Stewartville in 2005. In the 97 years that Wes lived, he was so many things to so many people. He was well liked, loved, and respected as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and a friend. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior early in his childhood and throughout his life was active in various churches. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his entertaining stories, his unfailing work ethic, his generous smile, his competitive spirit, and his willingness to come at any time of night to help a person in need. After serving in the U.S. Army, he had a career in the farming and auto parts industries. Many would say he was the "best salesman" they ever met. He had a genuine interest in the customers he served and developed deep friendships with many of them. He loved to participate in various sports. In his early years, he played a mean game of softball and basketball with his brothers. He brought that love of sports to his children as they often enjoyed time together playing basketball, bowling, fishing, or golfing. He remained very active during his later years and was blessed to be able to golf on his 92nd birthday. Wes married Dorothy Schimke in 1951 and together they had five children. After her passing, he married Ruth Tuseth in 1974 and her five sons were welcomed into the family. Wes is survived by his wife Ruth, sister Marlene Goldade, son Loren Faul (Sue), son Michael Faul (Lanete), daughter Dorinda (Allan Barker), son Randy Faul (Melissa), daughter Beth Faul, son Mike Griffin (Robyn), son Pat Tuseth, son Tony Tuseth (Mickie), son Perry Tuseth (Kris), 23 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren. Wes was preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy, son Tim Tuseth, grandson Chase Tuseth, sisters Verla Woehl and Dorothy Herr, brothers Mirad, Arlo, Robert, and Charlie Jr. As a testament to his giving spirit, Wes requested that his body be donated to Mayo Clinic for medical research. To honor his life and legacy, the children of Wesley Faul have planned a Celebration of Life service on January 6, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Grace Evangelical Free Church, 702 1st St. E., Stewartville. On June 8, 2024, at 11 a.m. there will be a graveside service at Sunnyside Cemetery in Harvey. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Benedict House for the care they gave our dad during his final days on this earth.
