Ada Lucke Obituary
Ada Lajoie Wellock Lucke, age 102, of Shelton and formerly of Milford for many years, beloved wife of the late Arthur R. Lucke, died on Sunday, October 31, 2021. Ada was born in Bridgeport on October 23, 1919 to the late Robert and Julie Raymond Wellock. She graduated from Central High school in 1937 and passed the first civil service tests given in Bridgeport; first as a Jr. typist and second as a Jr. stenographer and was assigned to the City treasurer's Office. There she was in bookkeeping and secretarial positions until her husband, Arthur R. Lucke Sr, started his company, Seeley and Jones, Inc. Ada is survived by her stepson, George C. Lucke and daughter-in-law, Helen of Bonita Springs, FL, daughter-in-law, Diane Lucke, and many grand and great-grandchildren; Goddaughter, Nancy Mahmood and many nieces, nephews and their families. Ada was predeceased by her stepson, Arthur R. Lucke Jr. and brothers, Robert and Raymond Wellock. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, November 3rd from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in THE GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. A service will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. followed by the interment in Kings Highway Cemetery, Milford. Cousin Ada was a very kind, smart, and delightful woman. I remember her beautiful flowers in Milford, and I enjoyed our visits at Crosby Commons. I'll miss her very much.

I met Ada through my Aunt Ruth many years ago when we were involved with the Shoreline Rug Hookers. She was warm, funny, intelligent and involved in her community, church and social organizations in a way that intrigued and inspired me. She will be missed.
