Adela Dering Obituary

DERING Adela M. " Adeline" "Auntie Ad" Dering, age 96 of Stratford, the widow of Gustav Dering, died Friday, October 10, 2008 at the West River Heath Care Center in Milford. Born in Hartford to the late Adolph and Emilie (Mueller) Blaschke, she was raised in Bridgeport and had lived in Stratford for more than 50 years. Auntie Ad was the oldest attending member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bridgeport. She was employed at American Fabrics for more than 40 years as a lace maker and was an avid gardener and seamstress who loved to cook for her family and friends. After the untimely death of her sister-in-law, Dorette Blashke, Adeline was mother to Karen, Lynn, Diane and Edward Blashke. Survivors include her "children," Karen Myers, Lynn Dains and her husband, Robert, Diane Blashke and Edward Blashke and his wife, Anne; great-nieces and nephews, Julia, John, Ava and Luke Blashke, Laura Carroll, Robert Dains Jr. and his wife, Paula, Susan Davis, Tylor, Adriannah and Reese Dains; and other nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Gerhardt and Edward Blashke and three sisters, Lydia Corris, Lillian Iverson and Harriet Hron, predeceased her. Funeral services will take place Monday, October 13, 2008 at 10 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, 612 Grand Street, Bridgeport. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Lynn, Karen, Diane & Eddie,
I heard about Auntie Ad. I am so sorry. She was a wonderful woman and so kind to everyone. She will definitely be missed! Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you and the rest of the family.
