Albert Bloszko Obituary

BLOSZKO Albert J. Bloszko, age 82, of Stratford, died Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at Bridgeport Hospital. He was the widower of Helen Pistey Bloszko. Born in Bridgeport to the late Stanley and Mary Sedor Bloszko, he had resided in Stratford for 48 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Al was retired from Jenkins Valve Corporation and was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Council of the Knights of Columbus. Al was a man with a quick wit who enjoyed life and especially his grandchildren. One of his proudest days was when his first grandaughter, Jaime, got married. He is survived by his devoted children, one son, Alan Bloszko and his wife, Deborah, of Milford; one daughter, Sharon Swift and her husband, Ed, of Milford; seven beloved grandchildren, Mark Swift, Jaime Swift and her husband, Brian Cella, Alan Bloszko Jr., Haley, Caitlin, Stephen and Eric Bloszko; one brother, Joseph Bloszko of Milford; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his two sisters, Stella Meresko and Helen DeLally. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, April 7, 2006 at 9:15 a.m. in the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford and at 10 a.m. in St. Michael the Archangel Church, Bridgeport with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will be in St. John Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
