Albert Buday Obituary
Buday- Albert George "Algy" Buday, age 74, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Eleanor Sabo-Buday, passed away on February 1, 2013 in St. Vincent's Medical Center.
In addition to his devoted wife, ELeanor, Algy will be remembered by his daughter, Lauren Buday-Kali, of Trumbull; his grandson, Maxwell Albert Kali, of Trumbull; one sister, Margaret McCarthy, of Monroe; one brother-in-law, Joseph Sabo, and his wife, Rhonda, of CA; many nieces, nephews, cousins, greatnieces, greatnephews, and a great greatnieces and great greatnephew. He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Albert and Louise Veronsi Buday, his mother-in-law, Mary Sabo, and brother, Anthony Giaquinto.
Algy graduated from Fairfield Prep in 1956, and continued his education in Fairleigh Dickinson University and University of Maryland before receiving his sixth year degree from Fairfield University. A retired biology teacher, Algy taught for 33 years at Chalk Hill Elementary School in Monroe.
Born during the hurricane of 1938, he lived his life until the very end with that type of elemental energyy and force. Algy loved his family immensely and enjoyed the company of a wide variety of friends. And for all of them, he always had that certain smile and engaging sense of humor. His interests were eclectic, ranging from an affinity for sports (especially boxing and football), a love of films and entertainment, as well as fine dining, with drinks and lively conversation.
He was, in many respects, a man for all seasons. Algy always related that, when his life was over, he desired an announcement that simply and yet profoundly said "Game called".
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10AM in Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Avenue, in Trumbull, with his interment to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery.

Great guy. We went to St. Anthony grade school together. He was a couple of years ahead of me but I idolized him as I did at Fairfield Prep. One of the nicest men on the face of the earth. And that ever present smile! R.I.P., Algie.

I knew Al as a fellow docent at Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo. He was such a kind person whom I always enjoyed speaking with and learning from. He will be greatly missed. The Buday family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Eleanor and family---So sorry to read the news of Algy 's passing. I have actually known Algy since St. Anthony's Grammar school and I idolized him when I entered The Prep in '55. Our hearts are broken. Algy was such a wonderful person and friend. We all smile at the mention of his name. Our visits to the "village" and the "video store" will never be forgotten, not to mention the amazing dinners. I had planned to use him as my phone a friend lifeline if I was ever on a game show. Mr. Buday was one of my very favorite teachers. Middle School was a very hard time for me. I was a moody, defiant, depressed kid, and most teachers let me be, but he always reached out and made me feel special. He took the time to try and make me smile, and to check up on me when I missed a lot of school. I remember him as the kindest, most warm and cheerful man. I feel very blessed to have had him as a teacher. He must have touched so many lives the way he did mine. Mr. Buday, thank you for being there!

I had the pleasure of being a student of Al's waaaay back in 1989. He has always stood out as one of my favorite teachers of all time. He had such a unique way of teaching and relating to his students. I can remember many conversation had outside of the classroom. He always made me laugh and had something inspiring to say. Truly a great man and a great teacher. Thank you Mr. Buday. You made a difference in this student's life.
