Ferrer, Albert
Albert H. Ferrer, 74, beloved husband of 49 years to Lucille DeBernardo and son of the late Alberto and Margaret Hayes Ferrer went home to the Lord and to the waiting pinochle table of his favorite partners, Tony and Mary DeBernardo and Caroline Torrillo, on January 15, 2016.
Born in Tallman, NY on July 25, 1941, Al graduated from Pearl River High School and was a 4 year veteran of the US Navy. He continued his working career as a process and manufacturing engineer at: Avco Lycoming, Stratford; Mossberg, North Haven and Colonial Coatings, Milford. Al also enjoyed classical guitar, boating, fishing and his few winters in Florida. Al was a proud friend of Bill W. for 37 years and was always willing to help someone in need.
In addition to his wife, Lucille, Al is survived by his loving family, his daughter, Michele Griffith and her husband, Scott; his grandson, Anthony (Arianna) Ferrer; his great-grandson, Zander; his sisters-in-law, Frances Anderson, Rosemary Burns and Carol (Robert) Zinser; nieces, Laurie (Will) Warnock, Donna (Gary) Suszynski, Robin (Joe) Egersheim, Mary (Jay) Gunzy, Dawn (Kevin) Donahue, Amy Zinser (Rob Trudel), Brianna (Dan) Farrand and Alison (Justin) Plante; and 14 great nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 501 Naugatuck Ave, Milford. Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT. Interment will follow at Mountain Grove Cemetery-Easton, Harvester Rd., Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Al's name can be made to Smilow Cancer Hospital, Office of Development, Yale-New Haven Hospital, PO Box 1849, New Haven, CT 06508.
