Alexander Butcher Obituary

BUTCHER Alexander A. Butcher, age 85, beloved wife of Mary Kochis Butcher, of Fairfield, died March 10, 2005, at St. Vincent s Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport, he was a longtime resident of Fairfield. A veteran of World War II, Alex served as a navigator in the Asian-Pacific theatre with the United States Airforce. He was a retired Tool and Dye Maker for Fineblanking Company, of Bridgeport. Alex was a past volunteer for Andrew Warde High School PTA, having once served as president, and was a former District Leader and Commissioner for the local Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the Bessemer Seniors. In addition to his devoted wife, he is survived by his son, Alan Butcher, of Fairfield; three grandchildren; Laura Butcher, of Fairfield, Alan Radin of Providence, RI, and Coleen Radin, of Fairfield; his brother, Edward Meszoras, of Stratford. He was predeceased by his daughter, Mary Radin. Private funeral services are entrusted to the LESKO & POLKE Funeral Home, of Fairfield Center. Mrs. Butcher and Alan (and Grandchildren)-- we are so sorry to hear about Mr. Butcher's death. He was a good man and a good neighbor when we lived next to you on Birchwood Drive. We will be praying for the family to be comforted and to have God's peace during this time of sadness.
